Susan B. Anthony made a huge step forward for women’s rights!
In 1884, women's rights advocate Susan B. Anthony first addressed the US House Judiciary Committee in order to create amendments to the US Constitution. In 1971, legendary boxers Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier partook in a world-famous fight in Madison Square Garden, NYC. One of the fight’s pinnacle moments was caught on camera by none other than music legend Frank Sinatra - and his efforts made the front cover of LIFE Magazine.
The world heard the meaning of life for the first time.
For anyone wondering, the meaning of life is 42. At least it is according to the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, which was heard for the first time on the radio on BBC Radio 4, on this date back in 1978! The popular sci-fi series was penned by the late Douglas Adams.
