We’ll also spill the beans on some famous people you might share a birthday with, too.

Special Days Falling on October 27th
Not everyone feels the need to celebrate or commemorate October 27th, but for others, it’s a day worth marking. Here are some of the most important events taking place around the world today.Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Independence Day
Every October 27th is Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Independence Day! This archipelago used to run under British, Spanish, and French claims to the lands, but the Caribbean would not go quietly! Thanks to a referendum that freed the area from British rule, Saint Vincent and Grenadines is now an independent area!
Turkmenistan Independence Day
Speaking of independence, today is also Turkmenistan’s Independence Day! The country celebrates its independence from the USSR, which it gained in 1991. As a national holiday, offices, businesses, and schools close down to allow for military parades, concerts, and other cultural events, fairs, and plenty of other activities to choose from!
World Day for Audiovisual Heritage
Another great thing about October 27th is that it’s World Day for Audiovisual Heritage! We are so fortunate to live in a world where we can capture actual moments in time and keep them forever! This has led to the creation of well-preserved memories, documented historical moments, and some of the greatest art the world has ever seen. So, today, as you watch the news, your favorite movie or TV show, or even listen to your favorite song, remember how incredible it is that we have access to all of this audiovisual heritage!
