March 2nd was also the date that the Martha Washington Hotel opened its doors to the public back in 1903. The hotel was opened in New York City and was initially created with the idea of only catering to women!

King Kong

King Kong first ascended the big screen!

Back in 1933, King Kong made its premiere in New York City! The movie was directed by Ernest B. Schoedsack and Merian C. Cooper, and has been adapted multiple times since.

On March 2nd 1962, President John F. Kennedy announced that the United States would begin nuclear testing above ground once again. He claimed that the decision had been made in response to the Soviet Union's nuclear tests that were a threat to international peace.
