Specifically, the legendary Orville and Wilbur Wright were born in Dayton, Ohio. If their names do not ring a bell, they are the two credited with inventing and building the world’s first successful powered aeroplane!

8. The state is also home to a NASA research centre.

The NASA Glenn Research Centre can be found in Cleveland, Ohio. The centre conducts research and testing for space exploration and aeronautics.

9. Ohio’s a real hub for education and research.

Some of the best schools in the country can be found in Ohio. The state boasts several prestigious universities, including Ohio State University, Miami University, and Case Western Reserve University. There’s a good chance some of the country’s most-educated people studied here at some point!

10. It is also known for its gorgeous parkland.

As mentioned above, Ohio is known for its natural beauty, and much of it stems from its incredible National Parks. Some of the most famous sites to explore across Ohio include Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park.
