Specifically, the legendary Orville and Wilbur Wright were born in Dayton, Ohio. If their names do not ring a bell, they are the two credited with inventing and building the world’s first successful powered aeroplane!

The NASA Glenn Research Center can be found in Cleveland, Ohio. The center conducts research and testing for space exploration and aeronautics.

9. Ohio’s a real hub for education and research.

Some of the best schools in the country can be found in Ohio. The state boasts several prestigious universities, including Ohio State University, Miami University, and Case Western Reserve University. There’s a good chance some of the country’s most-educated people studied here at some point!

As mentioned above, Ohio is known for its natural beauty, and much of it stems from its incredible National Parks. Some of the most famous sites to explore across Ohio include Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park.

In northeastern Ohio, you can find multiple Amish communities. Amish communities strive to live off the land, and therefore set up homes far away from modern cities and towns. There are several communities and centers you can visit across Ohio’s Amish land.
